We are a business consulting firm and work with international business development. Most of our work have been within high-tech but we also work with traditional retail and agricultural.
Next week we will attend Inclusive Business Forum taking place in Stockholm on October 20th. We will listen to people talking about opportunities and challenges in developing countries. We are ourselves working with a new sustainable agricultural project between East Africa and Europe and we are open to develop more Public Private Partnership (PPP) as we see many interesting opportunities in developing countries with better market access to markets such as EU or us here in Scandinavia.
We feel that the way to success for many are organic and fair traded. The total food market is just over 40 billion USD in Sweden so you can include hospitality and hotels. We estimate the total figure for organic food products to be around 6 billion USD for the whole of Scandinavia 2016 and it will continue to grow. We know from talking to retailers that the challenge is now to offer more ”nice price” as a Eco shopping cart is still to expensive than a normal best price food cart. The increased volume have not yet really pushed the pricing for organic produced food down. That means there are also good margin if you can solve the challenges with an effective and cost efficient supply chain from Africa to a consumer in Scandinavia. Besides organic farmed products, fair traded is a must if you want to challenge current supply chain. Part of our business model is also to assist the development for fair traded business in our market.
